Lovely vintage photos Ellesmere Shropshire town Square
Below are two lovely old photos of Ellesmere town centre the first one is when the local fox hunting gentry ride into the square with horses and hounds, the photo shows an early photo of Fred Roberts, H.C. Welsford and Dicks shops in the town square, it is a great photo of all the local towns people congregating in the town centre to see the hunt in the early 1900’s (vintage photos Ellesmere Shropshire).
The second image shows Ellesmere Town centre in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s and shows old cars parked outside shops such as Babyland, H. Holyoak, Fred Roberts and B Hoskin. See how wide the street looks without all the parking restrictions added to the town centre in recent years it makes you wonder if these restrictions make the town safer or less safe !
